GOLF WORLD REMEMBERING ICONIC TIGER WOODS SHOT TODAY

Tiger Woods isn't playing at The Memorial this weekend as he continues to rest and recover from injury, but fans are remembering a great shot he made at the event five years ago.

During the second round, Woods stood on the par-5 11th hole, his second shot about 100 yards from the pin.

He pulled out a wedge and delivered one of the best shots of the tournament - and possibly his career.

Woods was able to plant the ball on the green and spin the ball back into the hole. The crowd on the 11th hole erupted as Woods celebrated a great eagle.

Tiger finished tied for 23rd that weekend with a total score of nine-under.

Woods is looking to make his return later this year, likely at one of the remaining major championships. Despite the multiple injuries he has suffered, he is still chasing Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major titles.

Woods won his last major back in 2019 when he won the Masters after an 11-year major drought. That was Woods' 15th major title, meaning he only has three to go to tie the all-time record.

Tiger hasn't been the same player he once was for several years now, but given the reactions to this shot from five years ago, he's got plenty of people rooting for him.
