RAFAEL DEVERS SHARES POSITIVE THOUGHTS ON RED SOX THROUGH 25 GAMES

The Boston Red Sox have started the season off well, compiling a 14-11 record through the team's first 25 games despite injuries to a number of talented players, including three of their five starting pitchers.

Third baseman Rafael Devers just returned from his knee injury on Wednesday and promptly went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, helping the Red Sox down the Cleveland Guardians 8-0 to tie the series.

After the game, Devers spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the team's performance through this tough stretch of the season.

"I don’t know how people outside the organization see us but I think we’re a very capable group," Devers said (via. MassLive's Chris Cotillo). "We have very young talent here. They’re doing their job, stepping up and it’s very positive for us to win despite all the injuries."

Lucas Giolito, Triston Casas, Trevor Story, Brayan Bello, Nick Pivetta, Garrett Whitlock, Tyler Heineman, Vaughn Grissom, Rommy Gonzalez and Isaiah Campbell are all on the injured list, and Boston just got Tyler O'Neill back on Tuesday.

They've had to rely on some lesser-known players through 25 games, yet they're still three games above .500.

There can still be blame placed on the Red Sox's ownership for not going out and spending the money this offseason, but there have been plenty of guys on the roster who have stepped up and performed above their expectations early.
