NATE DIAZ SHOWS MAJOR CONCERN OVER JAKE PAUL FIGHT STIPULATION

As it currently stands, Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz is set to take place August 5th, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. However, if the Stockton native gets his way, the fight will be moved to another state entirely.

Diaz fought out his UFC contract and became a free agent, all the while expressly stating his intent and desire to face off against the Disney star YouTuber turned boxer. Sure enough, a short time after winning a fight against Tony Ferguson, the now-former UFC fighter was signed to face off against Paul.

Nate Diaz Wants Jake Paul Fight Moved

While the fight between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz was made official, reports emerged a few weeks after the fight announcement, which left fans worried about the way the fight would play out. Marijuana is not allowed by the Texas athletic commission, and noted partaker of the devil's lettuce Diaz was denied an application for a therapeutic use exemption for THC.

It appears this is something of concern for Diaz, whose brother faced a lifetime ban from MMA due to marijuana at one point in time. Taking to Twitter, the 209's favorite younger brother tried to make the case that his fight with Paul might need to go down in another state altogether.

"We gonna have to move states," Diaz tweeted, accompanied by a GIF of Homer Simpson fading into a cloud of smoke.

This is a hilarious request from Diaz, and one that is not entirely without precedent. While a different sport, fans saw the UFC change states on a week's notice to accommodate Jon Jones and his pulsing picograms.

If Nate Diaz fights and beats Jake Paul in Texas, then tests positive for THC, it will likely result in the bout being overturned to a no contest, meaning that this is a lose-lose situation for the former UFC fighter. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how things proceed for this event.
