Per Connor Hughes of SNY, defensive end Jermaine Johnson is a name of interest for a few teams needing pass-rushing help. New York wants “a lot” in return for the 2022 first-round pick.

The Florida State standout made a Pro Bowl appearance in 2023. When healthy, he’s been one of the better members of a suspect Jets defense this season.
Johnson suffered an ankle injury against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 that kept him sidelined until Week 6. He’s recorded 12 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass defensed and one sack in the three games he’s played this season.
Johnson had his best career year in 2023, recording 55 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 16 quarterback hits, one forced fumble and 7.5 sacks. He only played in two games in 2024, suffering a season-ending torn Achilles tendon in Week 2.
Johnson, 26, is young enough to be a player for Glenn to build his defense around if the Jets don’t receive a high offer for his services this season. However, New York has to consider trading anyone this season for the price.
