NFL WORLD REACTS TO AARON RODGERS UPDATE

The NFL world is awaiting the news that Aaron Rodgers has been traded to the New York Jets. However, so far, the Green Bay Packers haven’t heard an offer that they like for their superstar quarterback.

And according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, it does not sound like the two sides are getting any closer.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, Rapoport said that Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst and Jets general manager Joe Douglas have met at the NFL Owners Meetings this week but aren’t getting any closer to making a deal.

“Gutekunst and Douglas talked during the league meetings but I didn’t get the sense that they were any closer to a deal,” Rapoport said.

The wedge issue appears to be that the Packers want the Jets’ No. 13 overall pick in the upcoming 2023 NDFL Draft. However, the Jets have apparently made it clear that the pick is not on the table.

Everyone has made it clear that they want this deal to happen but the Packers and Jets may end up in a game of chicken until the 2023 NFL season draws closer. In the meantime, the NFL world had some strong reactions.

Ian laying out the idea that the [Packers] could still get first-round pick value even if it’s not a first-round pick. Mentions two 2’s in this video and in the threaded video the possibility of 42 and 43 as first-round value,” said Peter Bukowski.

“Sounds like they don’t value Rodgers that highly if they aren’t willing to give up that pick,” said another fan.

“You want an elite player, you need to give up elite picks. this dude won 4 MVPs and a superbowl. Heck he could play 5 more years if he wanted. Not getting a generational player with a chip on his shoulder for peanuts.” said another.
