A disastrous performance produced by Texas football in a loss to Georgia made for ugly viewing in Sunday's updated rankings.
The Longhorns dropped seven spots to No. 17 in the updated AP poll. In the US LBM Coaches Poll, Texas fell one spot further to No. 18.
Georgia, which handled Texas 35-10, moved up one spot in the AP Poll to No. 4 for its efforts. The Longhorns have one more opportunity to make an impact against a ranked opponent when No. 3 Texas A&M comes to Austin in the final week of the regular season.
The consequential rankings for Texas' postseason outlook are set to be released Tuesday night when the College Football Playoff selection committee reveals its next update. The Longhorns entered this week ranked No. 10 there.
