FORMER PENN STATE RECEIVER KEANDRE LAMBERT-SMITH PICKS TRANSFER DESTINATION

Former Penn State football receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith has picked his transfer destination. The Norfolk, Va., native and senior will play next at Auburn, he announced on Wednesday. It ends a brief stint for the one-time Nittany Lion in the portal. He entered it on April 15, just days after spring practice wrapped up with the Blue-White game.

“First And Foremost, I want to thank Penn State for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream of playing college football at the highest level while also being able to earn my agree,” Lambert-Smith wrote on Twitter at the time.

“To Nittany Nation, you all showed me something I could only dream of experiencing and for that I will always appreciate you. I have showed [loyalty] to the program, the university, and most of all the fans. To the guys (past and present), I couldn’t have asked to be around a better group over these last four years. I’m blessed to know that I have made friendships and connections taht will last a lifetime and for that I’m grateful. With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer. Everyone has their own book, this is just the next chapter in mine. #betheonenotoneof.”

Lambert-Smith joins the Tigers after making 126 receptions for 1,721 yards and 11 touchdowns over four seasons at Penn State. The program hoped he would become its No. 1 pass catcher in 2023, and while the stats say that he did, the play did not suggest that he was, as he faded during the second half of the season.

Texas A&M was the other finalist for the fifth-year senior.

Track Penn State transfer portal activity

The NCAA transfer portal database is private. But Blue-White Illustrated and the On3 Network have you covered from start to finish when it comes to tracking Penn State player movement.

Our well-established network of reporters and contacts across college athletics keeps you up to speed in several ways. We have articles written about players as they enter and exit the transfer portal or find their new destination, a dedicated transfer portal Twitter account, and the On3 Transfer Portalwire.

The transfer portal wire provides a real-time feed of player activity, including basic player profile information, transfer portal ranking, and original On3 Consensus recruiting ranking, as well as NIL valuation (name, image, and likeness).

While the transfer portal officially opens for business on April 16 for undergraduate players, grad transfers most also enter it before this specific transfer portal window ends on April 30, 2024. It is important to note that a player does not need to make his decision by the deadline. Undergrads do, however, have to declare their intent to enter the portal by then. When they pick their next school or decide to return to their current one after that is up to them.
