SEC DOMINATES TOP 10 QUARTERBACK PROJECTIONS AHEAD OF 2024 SEASON

In the SEC they say it just means more and that was especially true in JD PicKell's On3 quarterback rankings.

The conference boasted six quarterbacks inside the top 10. LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, Tennessee's Nico Iamaleava, Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart, Texas' Quinn Ewers, and Georgia's Carson Beck all made the list from the SEC.

Ohio State's Will Howard, Miami's Cam Ward, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, and Oregon's Dillon Gabriel were also mentioned.

It will be hard for Nussmeier to live up to the legacy of Jayden Daniels, who is coming off of a Heisman campaign. Nussmeier appeared in seven games last season with one start against Wisconsin in the Tigers' bowl game. However, in that game he lit up the scoreboard with 395 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Another quarterback with limited starting experience on the list is Iamaleava. He played in five games last season with one start in the Volunteers' bowl game against Iowa. Iamaleava found the endzone four times in that game, however.

It will be interesting to see how Milroe does under a different system with Kalen DeBoer calling the shots in Tuscaloosa. Milroe had a successful first season as the starter at Alabama with 2,834 passing yards and 35 total touchdowns.

Dart was the No. 3 QB on Pickell's projections. The number of transfers that Ole Miss is bringing in on both sides of the ball is impressive. The question will be if the Rebels can get over the hump and challenge the top teams in the conference.

SEC newcomer Texas will have Ewers under center once again. The Longhorns will be looking to make a return to the College Football Playoff like last season. Sarkisian will need to find a way to replace the likes of Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell in the receiving room, however.

Beck claimed the top spot in the projections. He'll be returning for another year in Athens with plenty of expectations for the Bulldogs. After falling just short of a playoff spot, Georgia will be hungry.

To become the best, you have to beat them, and playing in the SEC will definitely have its benefits for these young gunslingers.
