Manning threw for 179 yards and one touchdown while adding 53 yards and one touchdown on the ground in the Longhorns’ 27-17 upset win over then-No. 3 Texas A&M to end the regular season.
Before No. 13 Texas gets set to play No. 18 Michigan in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31, Manning made his decision about whether to jump into the 2026 NFL Draft, return to Texas or hit the transfer portal.
Per Chip Brown of 247 Sports, Manning has decided to play for Texas in 2026.
“BREAKING: Quarterback Arch Manning will return to #Texas for the 2026 season, a source close to the situation told @Horns247,” Brown posted on X.
With Manning set to stay in Austin, the Longhorns should have a lot of hype surrounding the program before next season. Texas had dreams of making a run to the College Football Playoff national title this season, but that could be a possibility next year.
Manning will have several games to impress NFL scouts in 2026 if he wants to jump into the 2027 draft.
Texas will host Ohio State, Florida and Ole Miss. The Longhorns will go on the road to play Tennessee, Missouri, LSU and Texas A&M. Oklahoma will be at a neutral site at the Cotton Bowl.
