STEELERS 7 SHOTS: RUSSELL WILSON, JUSTIN FIELDS SWAP REPS, OFFENSE GOES 6-1

The Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off their 2024 training camp practices Thursday, July 25... which can only mean one thing... 7 Shots is back, baby! Everyone’s favorite Steelers training camp tradition returns once again.

This drill emphasizes work inside of the red zone, with the offense and defense conducting seven reps from the 2-yard line. Those reps are split between the first and second-team offenses, though the exact division of reps varies from day to day, usually based on how the early reps play out.

Russell Wilson officially got his first reps in seven shots Tuesday since inching his way back from a calf injury suffered in the first week of camp, scoring each of the offense’s two touchdowns on the day. His workload was expanded a bit Wednesday, when he and Fields split the workload more evenly.

The offense’s only miss of the day was on a Wilson-to-Van Jefferson pass attempt. Four of the five scores on the day were runs, including a score each from Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, Justin Fields (scramble), La’Mical Perine and Aaron Shampklin. Fields had the only passing touchdown of the day — a throw to WR Calvin Austin.

Here’s a look at how the team’s been performing in the 7-shots period, with win/loss records for each day in training camp. We’ll be updating this each day with new results. Any time results for the first team offense are verified, they’ll be notated in parentheses.
